Assessments (Psychological Testing)
Dr. Stewart has completed extensive training in order to conduct the following types of assessments:
- Psychological Assessments
- Psychological assessments can be used to assess emotional, behavioral and personality factors in children, adolescents and adults. Having an appropriate and comprehensive understanding as to how a person thinks, feels, and behaviorist often the first step in developing appropriate and effective therapeutic interventions.
- A typical psychological assessment battery will include some combination of measures assessing IQ, achievement (for children), personality, emotional functioning, behavioral patterns, and social development.
- Psychological assessments can be used to:
- Assess for and differentiate specific diagnoses (i.e., Is it anxiety or attention problems that are influencing school performance?)
- Assess the impact of a specific problem area on the person's present functioning (i.e., the evaluation of PTSD symptoms and the impact of these symptoms on one's day to day functioning)
- Psychoeducational Assessments
- Gifted Testing
- Assessment of ADHD and Learning Disorders
- Assessment of Intellectual Functioning (IQ) and Achievement
- Assessment of Executive Functioning concerns
- Academic strengths and weaknesses
